Five on Friday: Almost Christmas Edition

It's that time of year when I am running around like a crazy person and occasionally yell out, "SANTAAAA! I KNOW HIM!!!!"

[source]
Yeah, that's about right. Anyone else?? We are in the final Christmas countdown, my friends... Wheeeee! This edition of Five on Friday is clearly pre-Christmas themed. What isn't right now?? (PS - if I have Jewish readers, bear with me. And Happy Hanukkah.)

Five on Friday: Almost Christmas Edition

1 // After the cookie-baking-extravaganza last weekend (double-batches of nine different kinds!!), I packed a bunch up and delivered them to several of our neighbors that we are slowly getting to know better. We took the gifts around on Wednesday evening, and they were SO well received! I wasn't sure how people would feel about getting cookies from a random neighbor they've only talked to a few times, but the response was overwhelmingly positive. I was so happy to see big smiles on everyone's faces (and the single guy next door thanked me for bringing "dinner.") Success!

2 // It's that time of year when there are SO MANY THINGS to do, and getting to the gym often falls to the end of the list. I made myself make time for it last night. Do what you gotta do!

3 // I inherited my family's nativity scene this year (or rather, absconded with it when I found it in a box at my parents' house...). This thing is older than I am - my mom bought it at a Sears in Washington State about a million years ago. It's survived moves and children and who knows what else, and I am thrilled to have it in my house now. We set it up on the shelves next to the tree and it looks absolutely perfect. C has insisted that baby Jesus can't be out yet, so he's hiding behind a picture frame at the moment.

4 // A sweet co-worker gave me an early Christmas gift... it's like she knows me so well ;) While you may think that I'd never want to see a cookie again (or at least for a while), I am oddly excited to experiment with some of these recipes. Who wants cookies??

5 // Christmas cards arrived and were addressed, stamped, and sealed in the same night. Mailed 'em out the next day... we will not have New Year's cards, after all. Hooray!

Hope you are finding the time to get everything you need to done, and also finding time to enjoy this wonderful season. It'll be gone before we know it. Happy Friday, friends!

I'm so impressed that you had less than a 24 hour turnaround time with your Christmas cards! SO MANY LABELS!!! I'm ALMOST done with all of mine. Then I'll hopefully get feeling back in my hand...
