Five for Friday: hello sunshine!

We made it to Friday, y'all! No exciting weekend plans around here - just going to be putting the house back together and admiring my beautiful new paint on the walls! I can't wait to get it together and show some pictures of how much better it looks.

C made an interesting comment last night - we were standing in the middle of the mess, looking around, and he said, "Sometimes I walk through the house and get a whiff of them - the old owners - and it's not bad, it's just not our house fully. I think that this is going to fix that." I totally agree with him: we are slowly but surely taking real ownership and making this our home, and with every step we take, it feels a little more like our place. Love it!

Anyway. On to a quick Five for Friday!

1 // A beautiful weekend: it's going to be absolutely lovely this weekend, with my favorite kind of weather, and I am thrilled! Looking forward to having the windows open and spending a little time in the sunshine. making me happy for a change!

2 // Curtain shopping: the old drapes on the main floor just don't fit in anymore, and I'm excited to find some new ones. Anyone have anywhere good to shop for drapes? #thingsadultsask

Some of my favorites from Pottery Barn
3 // Friday treats: After I dropped C off at the train this morning, I stopped by my favorite place and got myself a quick breakfast. I'm not a huge breakfast sandwich fan usually, but this one was calling my name. And there's just something about real coffee makes Friday morning even better!

4 // Date night: C & I are going on a real-live dinner date tonight. I decided it was high-time that we go out somewhere for a meal at a restaurant where there are no TVs or sporting events to distract us - we have gotten too used to quick dinners at our local sports bar! We are planning to go to a local restaurant called Amy's that we've been to for breakfast before, but not for dinner. I'm excited to try another portion of the menu!

5 // Cat photo of the day: somebody HATES the work being done in the house, because it means he has to wear his collar AND be locked in the basement all day. When I've been home, he's been glued to my side. Best friends!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Yay for date night! You'll have to let me know what you think of Amy's dinner menu! I still have never been there - I need to add it to my list!
