Burke Lake Park this past Saturday morning... went for a long walk with my mama. No filter necessary!

cooking: chicken with buffalo sauce in the crock-pot today for lettuce wraps tonight... and lately I've been craving everything grilled and / or Mexican (what else is new, actually?) C made chicken tostadas for dinner on Monday night, and I liked them so much that I requested them again for dinner on Tuesday night. Yum!

watching: Season 3 of the BBC's Sherlock on Netflix - just released this week! We've already seen these episodes, but enjoy watching them again. Benedict Cumberbatch makes my soul happy.

planning: a business trip next week, and birthday celebrations for C for the end of the month. Methinks a business trip requires some new business clothes... a shopping trip may be in order this weekend!

reading: The Cookbook Collector, by Allegra Goodman. A coworker recommended it to me, and, while I found it a little dull at first, I pressed on and now I'm really enjoying it. It makes me really hungry. And it makes me want to start a cookbook collection.

wearing: summer dresses, finally. It's been consistently summer-like outside, which means pulling all my light dresses from the depths of my closet. Pairing them with cardigans every day unfortunately, because the A/C is cranked in my office building. There is no winning!

linking up with Jenna and Anne today.

Ahhh I'm loving being able to wear dresses with cardigans still (it's cold inside my house, too!) mostly because I like covering up my arms. The lettuce wraps sound awesome! I'd love the recipe! Lamar and I are huge fans of buffalo chicken. :)
Thanks for linking up, Lindsay!

A business trip most definitely calls for new clothes! Take any excuse you can to buy some new threads :) Oh, and I have actually been wanting to watch Sherlock. Glad you guys are enjoying it, and happy I found your blog!

I'm loving dresses too! Especially ones that can double duty as work clothes and fun clothes (with a nice cardigan and pumps, of course!) But that's just my cheapskate-ness showing! And yummm... tostadas sound amazing! Now I'm rethinking my weekly meal plan...

I love that you busted out the word "methinks" in your blog post! I've been in the mood for a trip to Short Pump/Trader Joe's, so maybe we can plan that sometime (although it may have to wait for after your trip).

Ugh, I know the battle of the AC in the office! Mine is always freezing and I have to keep a little space heater on.

The AC is so ridiculous in my office too. UGH. We can never win.

That sounds like the perfect dinner - I need to remember to use the crockpot more as it gets too hot for the oven! And I always try to avoid buying new clothes for a business trip but can't ever help myself... I've been doing a little scoping for an upcoming trip too :) Thanks for linking up!
